In a business where security, precision and logistics are of the greatest importance for internal operations as well as our customers, it is vital to have systems that minimise the risk of human and mechanical error. We also see it as quite natural that we meet demands from customers and other organisations for quality and environment certification.
Early with ISO certification
Quality and environmental work is given the highest priority. As early as 1995 our company was certified in accordance with ISO 9002. Quality assurance work covers the entire company and is divided into four groups: stocks, Hydromat, NC and administration. Gnosjö Automatsvarvning is currently certified in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001. In addition to these control methods we also carry out continuous development of work environment issues to offer the best possible workplace for our personnel.
6S is better than 5
At Gnosjö Automatsvarvning we have developed the 5S method – Sorting, Streamlining, Systematic cleaning, Standardising and Sustaining, by adding a sixth S for Searching. Our business is based on routines, but it also needs everyone to search for improvements in production. Basically, it is about managing and using resources in the best possible way. To do this, everyone must feel responsible for keeping their eyes and ears open for new ideas.
We also work with a materials and production control system (Jeeves ERP) which provides an overview of the flow of orders from production to completed delivery. Production planning, purchasing cycles and order processing are all areas that are facilitated by Jeeves ERP.
Important weaving loom for industry
Working with 5S is a method that originated in Japan. In the 1920s, when Toyota was manufacturing weaving looms, they developed a model which stopped when one yarn ran out to avoid producing faulty material. This method of getting things right from the start and improving through small modifications has since been adopted by industries throughout the entire world.
